Live Music with Saving Able…

Hello everyone! This past weekend a buddy of mine, invited me to go with him to shoot the Saving Able concert and Amos’ Southend. Trace is a concert photographer that I met when working for Harley-Davidson, be sure to check out his site for Sonic Zoom Studio…

Amos’ Southend is a really cool venue and they get some really awesome performers. As I mentioned this concert was Saving Able, along with Elisium, and Another Lost Year opening for them. Saving Able was of course awesome! But I want to note that Elisium also won me over with their rock version cover of The Safety Dance. So enjoy the images below and please check out everyone’s sites as well…

The Dress and Mr. GQ

Hello again everyone,

Today I’m here to talk about wedding imagery, in particular something I do at my studio called The Dress and Mr. GQ. I’ve always thought that with all the money spent on a wedding dress, why not have more than the standard bridal images of it from the wedding day? I like to bring the bride into my studio a week or two before the wedding for a portrait session of her and the dress. This also gives the bride a proof of concept for her Hair and Make Up she wants the day of the wedding.

Of course why stop there? The groom deserves a chance to shine too! This lead to the idea of the Mr. GQ session, the groom can go full Tux or show off his personality in his favorite Jeans and T-Shirt.

Neither the Bride or Groom gets to see their significant others images until after the wedding, which makes for a fun surprise!

Here are a few examples…

Cosplay Feature – Judge Dredd

One really fun part of my business is that I get a chance to work some of the many talented cosplayers out there, so going forward I shall feature any of them I work with here on this blog.

That said, I have always loved the Judge Dredd character, even the film starring Silvester Stallone and the new Dredd staring Carl Urban. When I found out my friend Bob had done the classic Comic Book version of Dredd I just had to get it in front of my camera!!! Bob is a cosplayer and costume designer/artist. The detail of this cosplay is flat out awesome and spot on. For this one he did call in a little help from his friend Jordan at to make the massive shoulder pieces. While bob did the suit, gloves, boots and other details. Honestly, its a little intimidating when he puts it on, he even has the Dredd Scowl down perfect…

Two very Talented artist came together to create one amazing piece of work!
