This past weekend I worked at Fintastic in Charlotte for their 22 Year Anniversary event, what a blast!
It’s not everyday you get to see a live mermaid! Not to mention all of the beautiful tropical and fresh water fish they have there for sale. Need aquarium supplies? They have got you covered. In fact, I myself and my fiance who is getting her masters in environmental science are both aquarium junkies. I even wound up buying a 135 Gallon aquarium for at home, sure to be a really fun project!
Enjoy some of the photos from the event and be sure to check out Fintastic and the mermaids on Facebook!
Cars and Coffee June! David took Lucy (his ’53 Ford) out this month to show her off a bit at Charlotte’s monthly get together of gear heads and collectors alike. He forgot to take a picture of the coffee though… … Continue reading →
David and I photographed several cars this past weekend at the Cars & Coffee event where several different types of cars from all over came by to show off their rides. We had a lot of fun photographing and talking with some great car owners. Enjoy some of the finals:
If you haven’t figured it out by now… David and I are total nerds… What better way to embrace this than by surrounding yourself with 1200+ nerds? We went to ComiCon here in Charlotte to check out the amazing comic books, action figures, artists, and of course… the cosplayers! Some really fun costumes today and met a lot of great people! I even got turned into Mike from Monster’s Inc. We are about to start up a HUGE super hero project and took today as a great way to start meeting some of the local super heroes and talk about the upcoming project. Another really cool guy to check out is William over at Rebel Star Studios He gave me an awesome Captain America art piece that he did and we’re hoping to work with him on our project for some future ideas! Enjoy some of the finals from our Nerd Quest of the day:
This past weekend we had the opportunity to photograph the first Dog Competition hosted by Design Within Reach in Charlotte, NC. If you remember Archie from a few weeks ago; he and several other local canines took to the red carpet to strut their stuff and show off their skills. It was a lot of fun and great to meet some awesome dogs in the Charlotte area (and their humans too). We’ll be photographing the winners of the day later… so more doggie photos to come! Enjoy a few finals from the competition:
When David and I first met he immediately tried talking me into going ballroom dancing with his girlfriend and him. After I finally gave into giving it a chance, I was surprised by two things; 1.) How much I really enjoyed it and 2.) How NOT so easy it is… Ballroom dancing is such a relaxing, challenging, and great social activity. We have made several great friends at Metropolitan Ballroom including some of their amazing instructors like Clement, Tatiana, Ranko, Darinka and Nickolai.
The experience of watching professional ballroom dancers is honestly mesmerizing; the timing, practice, and passion that all show as a result in the final performance. Metropolitan has been apart of some really amazing stuff in the Charlotte community. They recently teamed up with the Charlotte Symphony for another one of their amazing events. The instructors and their students are constantly bringing back trophies from their competitions as well. If you’ve ever wanted to try or experience ballroom dancing, this is the place to do it!
One of the running jokes that we have is how every time we’re in the dance studio, we’re the ones playing and they are having to work. Well, the tables were finally turned on us when we were asked to come in and do some portrait work for them. David and I had a blast and many laughs with a great group of people! Be sure to check out their website for some other photos. Enjoy some finals from the day:
