David and I photographed several cars this past weekend at the Cars & Coffee event where several different types of cars from all over came by to show off their rides. We had a lot of fun photographing and talking with some great car owners. Enjoy some of the finals:
David and I decided to make one week a beach theme so we could have an excuse to go to the beach… This week was that week. After months of cold weather, we were looking forward to just relaxing a bit, soaking up the sun, and playing in the ocean. Well… it rained, was windy, and didn’t make it over 70 degrees… David got some Zzz’s on the beach while I was the only one brave (stupid) enough to go out and play in the freezing cold ocean water for a few hours. We did stop playing long enough to grab a couple shots for the P-52 though; here they are, enjoy:
Personal opinion here… good friends are hard to find and can bring some of the best memories in your life! David and my circle of friends really does rock. They are from all different areas of the world, have different interests, and all are very unique. What better way to get in a good mood with friends all grabbing pint together and sharing stories, memories, and laughs. We let the theme for Week-16 be the liquid of choice for these fun get togethers and a good toast to good times! Enjoy Week-16 – Cheers!
David and I got to work with a very cool hot rod this past weekend. A 1929, Model-A Ford Sedan that was built and painted by the same guy up in West Virginia. The owner now takes this hot rod to shows and just enjoys driving a great piece of machinery around town on random days. We brought the model, Danika, in to help with the Pin-up look/theme we wanted for this car and she was the final piece of the puzzle to make this shoot work! The owner is submitting these photos to several local hot rod magazines as well as a few big ones… Keep you’re fingers crossed, we’re going to be gut wrenched waiting to hear back if these make it to get published!!! Enough blabbing… check out these awesome hot rod photos!!!
After we finished up the photo shoot with Lamont Starr, we were talking and realized that David didn’t have any actual photos with his girl other than the ones we used for our website and facebook page. We found a couple cool spots a few days back while driving around and figured what better way to test them out! Here are a few finals of David and Lucy; hope you enjoy:
The other day we got a call from Lamont Starr asking if we could do another shoot for him. We were psyched to work with a talented local artist again and were pleased even more when we were asked to help with getting these images ready for his album cover! Lamont wanted us to bring out Lucy (David’s ’53 Ford) for this shoot too which was like music to our ears because it gave us an excuse to ride around in style through uptown Charlotte. Enjoy the finals and keep an eye out for Lamont’s album when it drops!
If you haven’t figured it out by now… David and I are total nerds… What better way to embrace this than by surrounding yourself with 1200+ nerds? We went to ComiCon here in Charlotte to check out the amazing comic books, action figures, artists, and of course… the cosplayers! Some really fun costumes today and met a lot of great people! I even got turned into Mike from Monster’s Inc. We are about to start up a HUGE super hero project and took today as a great way to start meeting some of the local super heroes and talk about the upcoming project. Another really cool guy to check out is William over at Rebel Star Studios He gave me an awesome Captain America art piece that he did and we’re hoping to work with him on our project for some future ideas! Enjoy some of the finals from our Nerd Quest of the day:
Imagine a kid walking into a toy store, his Mom and Dad let go of his hands and say, “Go have fun”… That’s about the closest example I can come up with to compare the way David and I feel (act) at car shows. Walking around the track at the Charlotte Motor Speedway seeing all the molded metal, the smell of classic car, gasoline, rubber, and leather…. It’s a bit overwhelming where to start. But seeing how we are older than 5 (physically – not mentally), we were able to stick to the plan and walk the entire show and see everything. There was a lot of pointing, ooohhh and aaawww -ing, and drooling from both of us today but we did manage to meet some really amazing people and get some great shots! Please enjoy them as much as we enjoyed shooting them!
For week 14 of Project-52 we decided to use the theme “Classic Lines” since we were going to be around a lot classics at the Auto Show. David found a Cadillac with the iconic “fins” on the back that are a very recognizable by any motor enthusiast. Many of the cars during this time were designed after airplanes being used during the war and really developed a set of cars that have yet to be rivaled in design (in our opinion). I found a SS Chevelle with one of my favorite color combos – Cobalt Blue with White Racing Stripes. That classic “SS” emblem just screams power! Enjoy our Finals for week – 14 and check out more from the Auto Show later!
