Looking for some fun photography classes???

Hello everyone,

I know I have been lacking in updates on here, but I have been super busy!

Starting in spring of 2015 I will be teaching photography classes at The Aperture Lab in Charlotte! If you have been wanting to learn photography basics of how to use your digital camera (Point and Shoot or DSLR), advanced DSLR techniques, or my personal favorite Working With On and Off camera flash/strobes, you will have a new, fun place to go!

We will not be teaching these classes in the traditional stuffy or stare at slide show manner, they will be fun, hands on, and informative classes teaching you real world usable skills. What do I mean by real world? I mean teaching you how to capture those precious family moments at birthdays, vacations, recitals, etc, etc.

We are not looking to teach you how to be a professional photographer, that takes years of dedication, mastering your craft, business skills, and commitment. We certainly can help you achieve that, but our primary goal is to teach you how to be an awesome photographer!

Live Music with Saving Able…

Hello everyone! This past weekend a buddy of mine, invited me to go with him to shoot the Saving Able concert and Amos’ Southend. Trace is a concert photographer that I met when working for Harley-Davidson, be sure to check out his site for Sonic Zoom Studio…

Amos’ Southend is a really cool venue and they get some really awesome performers. As I mentioned this concert was Saving Able, along with Elisium, and Another Lost Year opening for them. Saving Able was of course awesome! But I want to note that Elisium also won me over with their rock version cover of The Safety Dance. So enjoy the images below and please check out everyone’s sites as well…

Eight Sushi and Asian Kitchen…

Anyone who knows me, knows I love food! So getting hired to shoot a restaurant is one of my dream clients! Eight is a new restaurant at the NC Music Factory, it is located next to Osso. Eight specializes in Sushi and Asian cuisine and supports local farmers! They use local farms for appetizers and small plates, and they even used a local artist for all of the graffiti artwork in the restaurant. Be sure to check out Eight as soon as you can, you will not be disappointed!!

The Identical Movie Promo…

Now here is something pretty awesome, I got called in to shoot behind the scenes of a promo being shot at the Charlotte Motor Speedway for the up coming movie The Identical. What a fun day this was! I got to ride in a Camera Truck on around the speedway, met a Nascar team, and I got to meet the star Blake Rayne. Check out the promo piece below and some my favorite images from the day.

Old School and New School…

The Bike Exchange really knows how to be some amazing motorcycles, and no two are ever alike. Check out these two brought over to me this past week.

Industrial Street Sweeper…

As a commercial photographer the market can be filled with some really interesting things to shoot, so when Johnston North America needed to shoot one of their latest industrial street sweeper machines for a national ad campaign I was ready and excited!

Johnston is an international company that builds the number one rated industrial street sweepers on the market. Big rating, big company, and this was going to be one big shoot! The shoot required both on-location images AND studio images. Even my studio was not big enough for this machine so we booked of a couple of days, rented out a production sound stage and I went to work.

The location images had to show the machine in one of its targeted habitats (construction sites) and the studio images had to show the details and build quality of the machine itself. This was an amazingly fun shoot! So with out further banter, I give you the brand new Johnston ES351 street sweeper.

P.S. Johnston was kind enough to send over a copy of one of the posters that is on display at the American Public Works Association Public Works Congress & Expo (APWA), heralded as the largest public works gathering in the world, to be held in Toronto, Ontario at the Metro Toronto Convention Center this weekend for the debut of the ES 351.
